Anambra APC leaders express confidence in Duru

Leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Aguata Council of Anambra State has expressed confidence in the new Deputy National Organising Secretary, Chidi Duru’s capacity to deliver on his mandate.

Chairman of the APC in Aguata, Godson Anyadike and Secretary, Obi Ogonna, who visited Duru in Abuja on behalf of other executive members, congratulated him (Duru) on winning the Deputy National Organising Secretary slot, insisting that there was no doubt about his capacity to deliver on the new mandate.

They also expressed conviction in his capacity to add value to the party, as a member of the National Working Committee (NWC).

Duru, who was elected at the party convention on Saturday, March 26, 2022 in Abuja, also became an automatic member of the NWC by virtue of the amendment of the party’s constitution, which re-designated and restricted NWC membership to 25 national leaders, including the Deputy National Organising Secretary.

The NWC has already held its inaugural meeting at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja on Wednesday March 30, 2022 with Duru also in attendance.

Duru, who is also the founder of Acharaugo Foundation and former member of the House of Representatives, works with Suleiman Muhammad as the National Organising Secretary.

Anyadike said: “The coast was clear for Duru as many delegates from Anambra were optimistic about him. Duru has always been a loyal party man, diligent in whatever is entrusted to him and above all, he is a patriotic citizen of Anambra State and Nigeria.”

On his part, Ogonna said: ‘’Duru’s emergence is an opportunity, which time has come, especially as it concerns national politics of development and good conscience.”

Responding, Duru commended the party executive for backing him, especially during the national convention and the processes leading to it.

“This is not a winner-takes-all scenario; it’s a call to duty, to do what is good for the party and good for Nigeria. We must work hard to keep our party in power in 2023 and beyond. I have confidence in what you are doing at the state and council levels,” he said.
