The ultimate goal of being a Christian is to please God. And for us to do this, we must live holy and have regular fellowship with God. We must also be obedient to His word. We all face one challenge or the other that will make us to want to doubt the existence of God. The only way to avert this and still keep one’s life within the ambit of God is to be humble. It is the attribute that keeps an individual in constant obedience to the word of God.
A humble person will always forgive and forget any wrong done to him. It takes humility for a man to over look the wrongs done to him and still go ahead to do good to the person who had offended him. There is an emphasis on humility for Christians to follow in Philippians 2:5-8: “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men. 8: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.”
The humility of our Lord Jesus Christ in leaving the comfort of heaven to take the form of man and to accept death on the cross is one of the strongest assertions in the New Testament. The word form (Greek morphe) is the external appearance in which one strikes a vision. It is the external form that truly indicates the inner nature from which it springs up. There is nothing in this passage to teach us that Christ emptied His divine nature or His attributes. God may change form, but His attributes as God remains; hence, He cannot cease to be God. In any form God takes His divine attributes could be exercised according to His will. In John 1:1, the word (Greek logos translated to mean a thought or concept, an expression or utterance of that thought) of God made flesh did not alter His divine attributes. He remains 100 per cent God, but humbled Himself to take the form of human to accept shameful death on the Cross. All these border on humility.
It is going this far that all powers in heaven and on earth are given to Him and at the mention of His name that every knee must bow and every tongue must confess that Jesus Christ is the Lord. Human beings are converted to take the nature of Christ in humility, so that, they can meet with Christ hereafter. This is why they are called Christians, meaning Christ-like. The only attribute that will make an individual achieve this is humility. In the lead scripture, our Lord Jesus showcased children as quintessence of humility, advising His disciples to take the form of children to enable them, not just enter heaven, but be one of the greatest in heaven.
Children easily forgive and forget any wrong done to them. They do not keep malice or bear grudges against anyone. Once they finished any event they are done with it, they do not begin to recount what any man has done against them in that scenario. It is this nature that God wants every Christian to take, so that, he/she can make heaven.
Anyone who approaches God must do so in humility, holiness and righteousness. God is holy and does not behold pride and arrogance. In proving the holiness of God, Isaiah 6:1-3 says: “In the year that King Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple. 2: Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly. 3: And one cried unto another, and said, holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.”
Humility, holiness and righteousness are the attributes of God and whosoever shall make heaven must have them. God is holy and the holy angels worship Him. Human beings who will partake in worshipping God in heaven must showcase these attributes. It should be noted that greatness is measured through humility. Our Lord Jesus Christ humbled Himself and submitted Himself to shameful death on the Cross. He was elevated to take the seat on the right hand side of Almighty God. He is interceding for all human beings. Again Jesus told His disciples that whosoever humbles himself like a child would be the greatest in heaven. Humility, therefore, is the key that can open heaven’s door.
In James 4:6-10, the Bible makes a case for humility saying: “But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. 7: Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8: Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. 9: Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.10: Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.”
The grace of God goes to the humble, but resists the proud in all its ramifications. When an individual humbles himself, God will lift him or her up. God does not start a project and stops half way! He completes any project He starts! The completion of human project is eternal life in heaven. When God lifts you, it is because He delights in you and if he delights in you, He will grant you the grace to make heaven. Today, humble yourself to accept our Lord Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, run away from sin, do the work of God with the best of your ability and honour Him with your substance, you will become a divine project and you will make heaven at last in Jesus’ name.
Testimony Of The Lord’s Doing
Daughter Delivers Safely After Two Years, Seven Months Pregnancy
My name is Sister Success Uzochukwu Amaka. I joined the Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries in 2015. I am giving this testimony on behalf of my daughter who was pregnant for two years and seven months.
In early 2021, she called to inform me that she was bleeding, so, she was taken to the hospital. The doctor and nurses did all they know to stop the bleeding, but it persisted. Then I called our General Pastor and informed him of it; he prayed and immediately the bleeding stopped. Praise the Lord!
With this miracle, I waited to hear that she has delivered a baby, but the news did not come. Then on one fateful Wednesday, she called me again and this time, said: “Am I sure that she will not die with the pregnancy?
I assured her that she would not and that I will go to church the next day, being Thursday, to table the matter before God. So on that Thursday, I came and presented the matter before God and our General Pastor prayed and gave her three days to deliver.
To God be the glory, it did not pass three days and she delivered safely a bouncing baby boy. Praise the Lord!
