Police arrest two men for duping woman N7.5 million in Ikorodu

Driving against traffic is suicidal, Jejeloye warns

Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested two men in Ikorodu, Lagos, for allegedly duping a woman to the tune of N7.5 million under the guise of providing spiritual help.

The Command’s spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, said the unnamed woman realised the fraud and approached the police and the suspects were apprehended when they arranged to get another batch of funds from her.

Also, officers of Alausa Division have arrested four traffic robbers with a cutlass, dagger and axe on Otedola Bridge. They were also found with Toyota and Lexus logos.

Meanwhile, Ketu Division’s patrol team have arrested five traffic robbers who at about 11: a.m on Saturday, swooped on a motorist at Kosofe bus stop along Ikorodu Road. The suspects are between 18 and 28 years old.

ALSO, Chairman of the state environmental and enforcement and special offences unit (Task Force), Sola Jejeloye has warned Lagosians on the dangers of driving against traffic (one-way), okada operations on restricted routes, street trading and other environmental vices, which are not in tandem with global practices.

He said: “Driving one way is dangerous and suicidal and we hope that everyone here has seen the repercussion of driving against traffic, which is forfeiture of the vehicle to the State Government. Riding Okada and street trading is also prohibited and we have said it times without number that anyone caught, both the street trader, rider and passenger will be held liable and prosecuted.
