
The leadership of the Supreme Council for Sharia in Nigeria led by Dr Bashir Aliyu Umar has commended the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa for his role in pacifying relatives and victims of the Army bombing at Kaduna.
In his remarks during the visit by the sharia leaders, the CDS assured the council of the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) commitment to ensuring peace in the country.
He added that the recent Tudun-Biri incident in Kaduna was unfortunate. General Musa pledged to sincerely find the cause and promised a lasting solution to avoid future occurrences.
“We will do everything possible to get to the bottom and ensure it happens no more.”
The CDS also noted that there are few security challenges in the country, particularly in the North West. He called on leadership at all levels to fight criminality by providing purposeful leadership and development.
Responding, the team leader, Dr Bashir commended the CDS for providing a pivotal leadership style that is people-centric.
He maintained that leaders must not live in affluence when the majority live in abject poverty.
Dr Bashir also said the CDS leadership style has shown visible positive changes in the entire security architecture of the country.
He further appreciated the CDS for his tenacious commitment to addressing the Tudun Biri incidence.
He commended the CDS for his empathy and show of concern to the victims of the Tudun Biri drone attack.
