Aston Villa ready to break bank for Iheanacho
Super Eagles and Leicester City striker, Kelechi Iheanacho, is being linked with a move to Aston Villa.
If the move scales through, it will be Iheanacho’s third Premier League team after featuring for Manchester City for two seasons (2015-2016 and 2016-2017), and seven seasons at the King Power Stadium with Leicester City.
The ‘Senior Man’, as Iheanacho is called by his fans, has scored 61 goals, provided 34 assists in 231 games for Leicester City with 30 of the goals scored in 150 Premier League appearances.
He has reportedly rejected an extension of his current contract, which expires this June at Leicester City and the Nigerian is expected to leave the King Power Stadium this summer, according to sportsnow.com.
The 27-year-old has endured a frustrating season with the Foxes in the Sky Bet Championship, playing just 22 times with 12 of the games coming on as a substitute.
He netted six goals across all competitions for the club he joined from Manchester City in August 2017 with five of the goals coming in 22 Championship games.
Iheanacho has barely featured under Enzo Maresca since the turn of the year and has not started a Championship game since early December of 2023.
