Chisom Nwobi speaks on her journey of innovative approach for business development

Chisom graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Afe Babalola University, earning Second Class Upper honors. Her academic prowess was further demonstrated through her Master of Arts in Community and Economic Development from Western Illinois University. During her studies, she gained in-depth knowledge of economic models, community development strategies, and business analytics, which laid the groundwork for her career.

To enhance her skill set, Chisom said pursued various certifications, including a Chartered Graduate Diploma in Marketing from the National Institute of Marketing in Nigeria, and advanced courses in Business Analysis, Decision-Making Models, Investment Risk Management, and AI Concepts and Strategy from renowned institutions.
Currently, Chisom serves as an Asset and Wealth Management Associate at Goldman Sachs Ayco Personal Financial Management.

In her role, Chisom said she is responsible for preparing and distributing client reports, managing client records, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.

Her work includes developing comprehensive financial plans and conducting market research to support investment proposals. Chisom said her dedication to ethical standards and regulatory compliance has been a cornerstone of her professional approach.

Prior to her role at Goldman Sachs, Chisom said she worked as a Business Development Intern at the Illinois Small Business Development Center. She provided crucial support to small businesses by guiding them through grant and loan applications, drafting business plans, conducting market research, and designing efficient business processes. Her ability to interface with stakeholders and understand their needs was instrumental in creating tailored solutions.

As a Graduate Research Assistant at the Illinois Institute for Rural Affairs, Western Illinois University, Chisom said she utilized economic models, liaised with community leaders, and analyzed data on customer behavior.

She said her contributions to research have been widely recognized, with several published articles on topics such as fraudulent bank loan applications in Nigeria and strategies for women-owned small businesses in the U.S.
Chisom’s tenure as a Business Development Consultant at Zimako Nigeria Ltd highlights her expertise in performing SWOT analysis, identifying market trends, and developing comprehensive business plans. Her strategic approach involves defining clear business objectives, building long-term client relationships, ensuring regulatory compliance, and mitigating potential risks.

Her research work is equally impressive, with numerous publications addressing various challenges and opportunities within business environments.
