
In a series of coordinated operations, Nigerian Army troops have neutralised several terrorists, with others surrendering. The troops also recovered bombs, arms, ammunition, and rustled cattle, while arresting criminal suspects during the operations.
On August 12, 2024, troops conducted a raid on an Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists’ enclave in the Bama Local Government Area of Borno State. During the operation, five terrorists were neutralised, and two Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG) bombs, two Dane guns, one RPG bomb charger, one AK-47 rifle magazine, 23 rounds of 7.62 x 54 mm ammunition, six motorcycles, and assorted medications were recovered.
Additionally, following ongoing operations against terrorist groups in the North East, 44 Boko Haram terrorists and their families surrendered to troops deployed in Bama, Dikwa, and Gwoza Local Government Areas of Borno State.
In Plateau State, troops arrested a cattle rustler, Mallam Maawuya Shuaibu, at Mararaban Kantoma in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area. The suspect, linked to criminal activities in Barkin Ladi, Riyom, and Mangu Local Government Areas, was apprehended based on credible intelligence. Troops recovered 32 rustled cows from him.
In Bayelsa State, troops conducted raid operations in suspected criminal hideouts in Korokorosie Community, Southern Ijaw Local Government Area. During the operation, Mr. Donald Emason was arrested, and one revolver pistol along with two locally fabricated guns was recovered.

Similarly, troops in Akinyele Local Government Area of Oyo State arrested a suspected gunrunner, Mohammed Bello, 33, who confessed to supplying arms and ammunition to a kidnap syndicate in the area.
These operations reflect the ongoing efforts of the Nigerian Army to address security challenges across the country.
