Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has appointed Haruna Dayaya as the new Emir of Ningi.

The appointment was announced in a press release issued by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado, on Sunday.

Dayaya, the eldest son of the late Emir Yunusa Danyaya, succeeds his father as the 17th Emir of Ningi. His appointment was made following the recommendation of the kingmakers and the approval of Governor Mohammed.

The statement read “This decision is in exercising the powers conferred on him (the governor) by Cap. 24 Item 3 (1 ) of the laws of Bauchi State of Nigeria (Appointment of Emirs / Chiefs and Deposition 1991) and the recommendation of the kingmakers.

“The appointment was conveyed in a letter signed by the Secretary to the Bauchi State Government, Barrister İbrahim Mohammed Kashim.”

In the statement, Gidado expressed confidence in Dayaya’s ability to continue the legacy of his father in promoting unity, peace, and development in the Ningi emirate.

The state government pledged its support to the traditional institutions and their role in maintaining peace and progress in the communities they serve.
