Delta State government has unveiled a beauty pageant that would engage participants from across the local councils in the state. Addressing journalists in Asaba, the Executive Assistant to Delta State governor on Entertainment, Komone Chubbo Godwin, aka Gondons, said that the project will diligently search for the most beautiful queens across the 25 councils who has what it takes to represent the state globally.

“We are going to the 25 councils to search for queens. The councils have been grouped into five locations: Warri, Asaba, Sapele, Ozoro and Ugheli. These locations are the audition ground. 

“We will put the 25 queens in queen view for two weeks, and within the period, they will have the opportunity to showcase their talents, elegance, intelligence, culture and of course, other structures that would qualify them for the final,” he explained.

“They will be selected for the final slated for Asaba on November 26, 2024, with the winner getting a new SUV car, and N1.5m, while the second and third will get N3m and N2m respectively.

The famous comedian said over the years, the females in the state, unlike their male counterpart, were not given adequate attention in the scheme of things, and the state governor sees this as an aberration, asking that they should be honoured, promoted and encouraged with the Queen of Delta pageant to showcase their talents.

Godwin also said engaging the girl child in a thing like this will certainly make them feel being carry along in the system, and discourage them from involving in crimes and other deviant acts that is ruinous to their lives.

According to him, the decision to put up a beauty pageant which will run through the years the governor is expected to stay in office is to showcase what the state is capable of doing to the global communities.

The comedian stated that all the selected queens would be trained by professionals who will teach them how to walk on a run way, speak, and carry themselves with charisma to enable them represent the state anywhere in the world.
