Three dead in Plateau community

The mobile marauding terrorists who recently killed no fewer than 52 persons in communities of Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State shifted their operations on Monday night where they killed three people.

Our correspondent gathered that the victims were killed at Hwrra community of Kwall District of Irigwe Chiefdom in Bassa council of the state.

National Publicity Secretary of the Irigwe Development Association (IDA), Mr. Sam Jugo, disclosed this to journalists in a statement.

The night attack, according to him, precisely took place by 8:30 pm.

“The EXCO of IDA was informed this morning of an attack at Hwrra village yesterday, the 7th of April, 2025 at about 8.30pm which claimed the lives of 3 persons,” he said.

“Those killed included Yakubu Mali (48 years), Mangwa Ive (40 years) Israel Riti (51 years). May the souls if our kinsmen rest in peace.”

According to Danjuma Auta, the National Secretary of IDA, the security agencies have been notified and carrying out their investigations.

Aluta added that IDA and by extension, the Irigwe Traditional Council urged all to remain law-abiding and allow the law enforcement agencies to do their job.

Meanwhile, the Rigwe Nation has recorded 2,866 attacks, 1,107 deaths with 27,330 farms destroyed from 2001 to March 2025.

The findings were made public by Rigwe Nation based on research conducted by Mr. Gastor Barrie, a prominent researcher from 2001 to March 2025.

This was disclosed in a statement jointly signed by the National President of IDA, Rev. Daniel Gya, National Secretary Danjuma Auta, and Public Relations Officer Samuel Jugo David.

The revelation followed the killing of 33-year-old Irigwe man, Mr. Dewi Terry Nah, who was stabbed to death on Wednesday, April 2,2025 at about 2:00pm around the twin hill (Gyu) area located between Jebbu -Miango and Miango town.

The IDA revealed that “According to research conducted by Mr. Barrie from 2001 to March 2025 from a total of 2,866 incidents, 1,107 deaths, 412 injuries, 2 rape cases, 20,836 houses destroyed, 742 barns and 27,330 farms were recorded destroyed”.
