President Bola Tinubu is currently presiding over the meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) at the Council Chambers of the State House, Abuja.
Shortly before the commencement of proceedings, the President administered the oath of office to Nnana Uzor Kalu, who had been recently appointed Commissioner representing the South East in the National Assembly Service Commission.
Following the brief swearing-in ceremony, the council observed a minute of silence in honour of the late Navy Captain Caleb Olubolade (rtd), a former cabinet minister who passed away on May 11, 2025.
Olubolade served in various capacities under former President Goodluck Jonathan, including as Minister of Special Duties, Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory, and Minister of Police Affairs. He was also a former Military Administrator of Bayelsa State under the regime of late General Sani Abacha.
In attendance at the FEC meeting are Vice President Kashim Shettima, National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila, and Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. Didi Walson-Jack, alongside a majority of cabinet ministers.
