My Ecurrency Nigeria launches My-Ec 2.0 to mark five-year anniversary

My Ecurrency Nigeria, a digital trading and payment platform, marked its fifth anniversary on Tuesday with the launch of My-Ec 2.0, a significant upgrade that extends its services into the Web3 space. The platform now supports decentralised wallets, cryptocurrency trading, gift card exchanges, smart bill payments, and discounted airtime and data bundles.

The company said the update reflects its ongoing focus on innovation and enhancing user experience in Nigeria’s evolving fintech sector. Speaking on the anniversary and product launch, Akinremi Damilola, CEO of My Ecurrency Nigeria, said, “This is a special milestone for us. In five years, we have grown from a small exchange company to a fast-expanding fintech brand serving thousands of Nigerians daily. With My-Ec 2.0, we are entering a new era that embraces Web3, places our customers at the centre, and redefines what a digital finance app can do. This launch is our promise to keep evolving with the industry and continue building solutions that make everyday financial transactions simpler, faster, and more secure.”

Founded in 2019, My Ecurrency Nigeria initially offered cryptocurrency and gift card exchanges. Over time, the company has developed into a broader fintech ecosystem, allowing users to securely store digital assets, trade Bitcoin, Ethereum, and USDT, convert gift cards to cash, pay bills, and access discounted airtime and data bundles.

The platform upgrade emphasizes a user-centric design, the company said, ensuring features are accessible and adaptable to emerging technologies. “Every feature has been designed with user needs at the core,” the company said in a statement. “My-Ec 2.0 is future-ready and poised to integrate additional Web3 functionalities as the ecosystem evolves.”

Beyond functionality, My Ecurrency Nigeria highlighted security as a priority, implementing robust measures to protect transactions and manage digital assets safely. The company said this reinforces its reputation as a reliable platform in Nigeria’s fintech sector.

Over the past five years, My Ecurrency Nigeria has sought to make digital finance more practical and inclusive, catering to a growing number of Nigerians who rely on its services for trading, payments, and asset management. The launch of My-Ec 2.0, the company said, represents both a technological milestone and a commitment to enhancing financial accessibility for individuals and businesses.

Damilola added, “My-Ec 2.0 is more than an app. It is a comprehensive solution designed to simplify financial interactions, expand opportunities, and support the growth of Nigeria’s digital economy. The launch signals a new era of fintech engagement for both the company and its users.”
