Tida partners Mkobo Bank to expand access to retail tech and financing

Tida Retail Limited has entered into a partnership with Mkobo Microfinance Bank to improve access to digital tools and financing for small and medium-sized retailers in Nigeria.

Under the agreement, Mkobo Bank will finance the acquisition of Tida’s RetailOS devices and inventory for merchants seeking to modernise their operations without significant upfront payments.

RetailOS, developed by Tida Retail, is an integrated retail management platform that combines payment processing, sales tracking, and inventory control in one system. The solution is designed to simplify business operations and support data-driven decision-making among retailers.

Kayode Ariyibi, Founder and Head of Product & Engineering at Tida Retail, said the collaboration was intended to close the gap between technology and financial access for merchants.

“Our goal is simple — to empower retailers with the technology and financial support they need to run smarter businesses,” he said. “By partnering with Mkobo, we’re bridging the gap between digital tools and financial access — enabling merchants not only to manage their stores better, but also to access credit to keep their shelves stocked.”

Mkobo Bank will provide structured repayment plans for RetailOS hardware and inventory financing, targeting micro, small, and medium-scale enterprises. The move aligns with both organisations’ commitment to improving financial inclusion and supporting business growth in Nigeria’s informal retail market.

According to both companies, the partnership reflects increasing collaboration between fintech and banking institutions seeking to strengthen Nigeria’s retail and commerce landscape.

Tida Retail and Mkobo Bank said the initiative would contribute to long-term retail digitisation, helping business owners enhance efficiency, sustain cash flow, and scale responsibly.
