• Unveils Adedeji as running mate
• Adeola urges APC members to unite, embrace new entrants
The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the 2027 governorship election in Oyo State, Bola Tinubu, yesterday, received the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) nomination form.
The senator, representing Oyo South Senatorial District, also unveiled Adesoji Michael Adedeji, a native of Iwo-Ate in Ogo Oluwa Local Council as his running mate.
Relatedly, the APC governorship candidate for Ogun State in 2027, Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, has called on party members in Ogun West Senatorial District to remain united, work together, and embrace new entrants ahead of the elections.
Adeola gave the charge during the Ogun West APC stakeholders’ consultative meeting held yesterday at the Asade Agunloye Pavilion, Empire Ground, Ilaro, Ogun State.
The APC Chairman in Oyo State and former Deputy Governor, Moses Alake Adeyemo, urged party members to remain united and work together to secure victory in the 2027 elections.
Adeyemo said it was better for the party to be in government than in the opposition, appealing to aggrieved members to put aside their grievances and support the APC.
Also, the APC Deputy National Auditor, Gbenga Olayemi, while presenting the INEC nomination form to Alli, described the governorship candidate as the party’s flagbearer rather than an individual candidate.
In his acceptance speech, Alli described his emergence as the party’s candidate as a collective victory for all APC members and pledged to lead with fairness, accountability and inclusiveness if elected.
He, however, thanked President Bola Tinubu, the APC National Working Committee (NWC), leaders of the party in the state, security agencies and members of the party for their support throughout the primary election.
He also extended appreciation to his fellow aspirants, urging them and their supporters to unite behind the party’s common goal of reclaiming Oyo State.
According to him, the task ahead requires unity, sacrifice and collective commitment, stressing that the APC must move beyond the primary election and work together to achieve victory in 2027.
Alli said that his administration, if elected, would focus on empowering farmers, creating opportunities for youths, improving education and healthcare, strengthening infrastructure, protecting the environment and ensuring economic growth benefits in all parts of the state.
He added that his government would align with Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda by promoting justice, fairness, accountability, compassion and service to the people.
Adedeji, while accepting his nomination as the deputy governorship candidate, thanked leadership of the party for the confidence reposed in him and expressed optimism that the APC would emerge victorious in the 2027 governorship election.
The stakeholders’ consultative meeting, which formed part of a broader engagement across the five local councils in Ogun West Senatorial District, brought together party leaders, stakeholders, and members from Imeko-Afon, Ipokia, Ado-Odo/Ota, Yewa North, and Yewa South.
He urged party faithful to embrace the spirit of inclusiveness, stressing that the continued growth and electoral success of the APC depend on unity of purpose and collective commitment.
