Group to honour Adeboye with ‘Responsible Citizen Badge’

The General Overseer, The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye

Working People United (WoPU), a civic coalition of organised labour unions, professionals and other stakeholders, has announced plans to confer its Responsible Citizen Badge on the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, in recognition of what it described as his patriotism, responsible public engagement and commitment to national unity.

The group said the award is in recognition of Adeboye’s consistent advocacy for peace, responsible leadership and constructive national dialogue, noting that his public interventions have continued to promote national cohesion and institutional responsibility.

Convener of WoPU, Williams Akporeha, described Adeboye as a leader whose influence extends beyond the pulpit.

Pastor Adeboye has consistently demonstrated leadership that inspires hope, responsibility and unity. His voice in moments of national concern reflects wisdom, patriotism and a sincere commitment to the stability and progress of Nigeria,” he said.

He explained that the Responsible Citizen Badge is a civic honour established to recognise individuals whose actions and public engagements strengthen unity, encourage responsible leadership and contribute meaningfully to peace and national development.

Akporeha noted that the award, unveiled during WoPU’s Good Governance Summit held on June 25, 2026, in Abuja, is non-political and celebrates Nigerians whose contributions foster national cohesion and responsible citizenship.
