To address poverty and improve Nigerians’ quality of life, members of Rotary Club of Omole Golden recently empowered artisans and business owners with grants worth N5 million.
Speaking during presentation of the microfinance cheques to beneficiaries, the Impact President (2026-2027), Dr. Omowunmi Bakare said, ‘this is our first project and we are visiting the beneficiaries’ shops to encourage and show them how to maximise opportunities of the scheme.”
She highlighted some activities for the year as sustaining membership growth, fueling the Rotary Foundation, supporting youths through Rotaract, Interact clubs; prompt payment of revised yearly dues; cCommitment to District Educational Welfare Endowment Fund (DEWEF); Elevating public image and deeper engagement with Diaspora members.
Bakare added, ‘on behalf of the dynamic Board, I promise you that this year, we are bringing unmatched vibrancy to our gatherings. We are going to make our fellowships fun, fantastic, and fantabulous! Let us enjoy the gift of each other’s company as we do the hard work of changing our community.’
On her part, District Governor District 9111, Bukola Bakare, who paid her first courtesy visit to the club listed some district projects for the year as, building and equipping a 60-bed mental health facility at Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital Yaba, Lagos; increasing membership by 20 percent; among others.
Two new members were also inducted into the Rotary family.
At the special event were District leaders, Board of Directors, Council of Past Presidents and the members of the iconic club.
