The Federal Government and all political office holders have been urged to intensify efforts towards eradicating the lingering menace of kidnapping in the country.

The Founder/General Overseer of the True Covenant Church of God (TCCG), Bishop Olufemi Otusanya, who made the appeal during a press conference to announce the inauguration of the Cathedral, assured that all the victims of kidnapping across the country, including school children would be rescued soon.

While speaking on the inauguration slated for August 16, 2026, Otusanya, popularly called Omomajemu said “the occasion marks the manifestation of God’s faithfulness, fulfilled promises, and divine presence among His people.”

He continued: “It is time for the National Assembly and all our leaders to put their heads together and do everything within their powers to rescue these children. God is faithful and will do everything possible to make Nigerians happy,” he said.

“On August 16, we will officially dedicate this sacred edifice to gthe glory of God under the theme: “The Glory of His Tabernacle.” The theme is inspired by the truth that God’s presence is what makes any gathering place holy. As declared in Exodus 40: 34-35 “Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.”

He added that despite challenges, limitations and humble beginning, the Lord has proven himself faithful, noting that through season of trials, growth and unwavering faith, God has remained the pillar and foundation of the ministry.

“The journey has been one marked by divine provision, supernatural encounters, and undeniable testimonies of God’s sustaining grace. Why are we celebrating? We are celebrating because it is scriptural and necessary to celebrate the faithfulness of God. Celebration is not merely an act of joy –it is an act of remembrance, thanksgiving, and testimony.”
