The national secretary of All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Ajibola Basiru, on Monday rallied support for the party’s standard bearer during next  month gubernatorial poll in Osun, Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, saying his  pedigree in the financial sector will positively drive the state’s economy.

Speaking at the campaign of APC held in Ila Orangun, Basiru expressed optimism of a better and prosperous Osun where healthy socioeconomic developments would make life more meaningful for the citizenry.

He stated that it was incumbent for the people to take advantage of the improved financial capacity to accelerate development by voting massively for Oyebamiji, who possesses the experience and economic knowledge required to drive meaningful development across Osun State.

“Reports have shown that what states received has increased tremendously, and even the Osun State Government has acknowledged the improvement in allocations,” he said.

“That is why we are endorsing AMBO. He understands governance, business and the economy, and we believe he will use these resources to build a better future for our children,” Basiru posited.

While assuring that the APC administration under AMBO would place special attention on workers’ welfare, agriculture, education, healthcare and security, the APC national scribe said”our civil servants deserve better welfare because they remain the engine of government,” he said.

“AMBO will support our farmers to produce more and create opportunities for their agricultural products to reach wider markets, bringing greater financial rewards to them.

“When agriculture thrives, our rural communities prosper, employment increases and the state’s economy becomes stronger. Education must equally receive priority. We are facing a shortage of teachers, and our children deserve quality education that prepares them for a brighter future,” Basiru added.

Speaking at the rally, Oyebamiji promised to complete abandoned road projects and construct more rural roads to boost agriculture and economic activities across the state.

He also maintained that road infrastructure would remain one of the top priorities of his administration because of its direct impact on farmers and rural communities.

“When I become governor, we will complete this road and ensure that other roads linking our towns and villages are also constructed. Good roads are essential for transporting agricultural produce, attracting investment and improving the lives of our people,” Oyebamiji promised.
