The Vice-Chancellor of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU), Abia State, Professor Ursula Ngozi Akanwa, has directed the university’s Bursary Department to immediately commence the process of refunding tuition fees paid by students before they received the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) facility.
Professor Akanwa gave the directive on Wednesday while inaugurating the newly elected Students’ Union Government (SUG) executives. She instructed the Bursary Department to ensure that all students who paid their fees before the disbursement of their NELFUND loans are refunded promptly so they can fully benefit from the scheme.
The Vice-Chancellor also urged students to register their courses promptly upon the resumption of the 2026/2027 academic session, stressing that early registration would help prevent unnecessary delays in academic activities.
She charged the newly inaugurated SUG executives to provide responsible and purposeful leadership by working closely with the university management to promote peace, harmony, and the welfare of not only the students but the entire university community.
