An articulated truck loaded with turkeys has reportedly killed three persons on a motorcycle in an accident that occurred at Ilaro, along the Papalanto axis of the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway.

 

Spokesperson of the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency(TRACE) Babatunde Akinbiyi confirmed this to newsmen in a statement in Abeokuta yesterday.

 

Akinbiyi said that the crash which occurred on Wednesday evening at about 6: 30 p.m left the three people dead on the spot.

 

He said that the riders and the two passengers were coming from Ilaro enroute Papalanto axis of the road before the accident occurred.

 

Akinbiyi explained that the motorcycle rider who was carrying two passengers attempted to overtake a vehicle towing another but was in the process struck by the truck against the two towing vehicles.

 

He said that the three persons on the motorcycle died immediately the accident happened.

 

“The accident happened around 6:30 p.m yesterday. The rider of a motorcycle carrying two people was coming from Ilaro to Papalanto and tried to maneuver a vehicle towing another after overtaken a truck carrying turkey but in the process was rammed by the truck to the towing vehicles” The TRACE Spokesperson said .
