Two beneficiaries of the Mind Builders School Scholarship Programme, Bilikisu Abdulraheem and Qureeb Adekunle, have inspired pupils in their alma mater, Olowora Public Nursery and Primary School, to strive for academic excellence and take advantage of the scholarship opportunities provided by the Mind Builders Education Trust.

The two students, currently in Senior Secondary School Two (SS2) and Junior Secondary School Two (JSS2) respectively, secured all-expenses-paid scholarships under the school’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative.

Addressing the pupils, Abdulraheem encouraged them to remain focused in their studies and prepare diligently for the next scholarship entrance examination for the 2026/2027 academic session.

She dispelled the misconception that personal connections are required to secure the scholarship, stressing that the selection process is based strictly on merit.

“My experience has shown that you do not need to know anyone to qualify for the scholarship. All you need is adequate preparation and an excellent performance in the entrance examination,” she said.

She added that each beneficiary enjoys a comprehensive educational package valued at over N2 million yearly, covering tuition, books, uniforms and other educational expenses.

The Principal, Mind Builders High School, Adekunle Agbelu, traced the partnership between the two schools to 2008, when the scholarship programme for outstanding pupils from the host community was introduced.

He explained that the first and, until recently, the only beneficiary from Olowora Public Nursery and Primary School was Blessing Ugbebor, who successfully completed her secondary education at Mind Builders High School and is now a 200-level undergraduate at the University of Ibadan (UI).

According to him, the selection of Abdulraheem and Adekunle has increased the number of beneficiaries from Olowora Public Nursery and Primary School to three, underscoring the school’s continued commitment to identifying and nurturing academically gifted, but indigent children from its host community.

Agbelu reaffirmed the school’s commitment to expanding access to quality education through its scholarship scheme, describing the initiative as a key component of the school’s CSR.

Headteacher, Olowora Public Nursery and Primary School, Mrs Olasode Temitope, described the scholarship scheme as a life-changing opportunity that has inspired many pupils to pursue academic excellence.

She also expressed appreciation to the school for providing children from the host community with access to quality education.
