The LikeMinds Volunteers for Tinubu has reaffirmed its commitment to President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, declaring that it will pursue its grassroots mobilisation campaign and target the delivery of 2.5 million votes for the President regardless of the outcome of its proposed collaboration with the CityBoy Movement.
The group, also known as the CityBoy LikeMinds Volunteers, said it has established structures in 35 states and built a network of more than one million direct and indirect volunteers and officers, insisting that its mobilisation efforts would continue independently if necessary.
In a statement signed by its Director-General, Temidayo Babalola, the organisation said its objective remains to support Tinubu and candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) through a nationwide grassroots campaign.
The group disclosed that its National Coordinator, Hon. Adekunle Abdulkabir Akinlade, led a delegation that met with the Director-General of the CityBoy Movement National Headquarters, Hon. Francis Tosin Shoga, alongside other officials, to discuss possible collaboration ahead of the 2027 elections.
According to the group, a formal proposal for collaboration was submitted to and acknowledged by the CityBoy Movement’s national leadership, while discussions also included plans to unveil the CityBoy LikeMinds Volunteers App at the movement’s headquarters and share mobilisation data gathered across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
However, the organisation expressed surprise that the Ogun State chapter of the CityBoy Movement later issued a disclaimer distancing itself from the proposed collaboration despite what it described as the absence of any official response from the national headquarters.
It maintained that it had followed the prescribed registration process for support groups in Ogun State before approaching the national leadership to formalise the partnership.
The group also defended its adoption of the “CityBoy” identity in its name, arguing that the term has become widely associated with President Tinubu, alongside other popular political identifiers such as PBAT, Asiwaju, Akanbi Omo Olododo and Jagaban.
It added that the intention was solely to promote the President’s re-election and not to misrepresent or undermine any existing organisation.
The statement further noted that Seyi Tinubu had consistently encouraged initiatives aimed at supporting his father’s re-election, describing such openness as essential for broadening grassroots participation.
LikeMinds Volunteers said its ONE-OF-TEN Initiative is designed to secure 2.5 million votes by encouraging each volunteer to mobilise at least 10 eligible voters within their communities and polling units.
It added that its leadership includes former members of the National Assembly and grassroots political figures with networks across Nigeria’s 774 local government areas.
The organisation stressed that its support for Tinubu is not dependent on any single political platform, adding that while it remains open to collaboration with the CityBoy Movement and other pro-Tinubu groups, it is prepared to execute its mobilisation plans independently through its existing structures and technology-driven strategy.
It called on supporters of the President and volunteer organisations across the country to remain focused on the 2027 elections, pledging to continue expanding its structures and pursuing its target of delivering 2.5 million votes for Tinubu through its ONE-OF-TEN Initiative.
