The standard bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun, Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, on Friday said his administration would not prioritise construction of road projects over health, education, workers and other critical sectors.

 

While clarifying that road infrastructure would not be relegated if elected, he explained that the implementation of projects would not overshadow sectors capable of boosting human capital development and collective well being of the masses.

 

Oyebamiji made this disclosure at palace of Olufon of Ifon, Oba Peter Oluwole Akinyooye, in Orolu Local Government Area of Osun State.

 

Exuding confidence of winning August 15 gubernatorial poll, the APC candidate stated that “I am assuring you the electorates that if you elect me as your Governor, we will deliver good governance across town and communities in the state without bias.”

 

Oyebamiji stated, “Like out party scribe rightly said, we won’t prioritize road over education, healthcare delivery, agriculture development, micro economy. We will ensure all round development and improve the business atmosphere of the state for indigenes and residents irrespective of your affiliations.”

 

He assured that no segment of the state would be shortchanged in the implementation of capital projects and enjoyment of democratic dividends, describing anticipated votes cast for the APC as the catalyst needed to restore Osun’s rightful position among the comity of states.

 

Also speaking, the national secretary of the APC, Senator Ajibola Basiru alleged that revenues accruable to the state did not commensurate with the projects implemented by Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration.

 

According to him, “the first thing that the government of Bola Oyebamiji under our party is going to do is we are going to have community intervention infrastructure across the wards in Osun.

 

“There is something called community infrastructure, and that is lacking in the present administration in Osun State, we have 332 wards out of the 332 wards we have several communities. So what are the infrastructures in these communities from the over 2 trillion?

 

“Secondly, Kabiyesi our educational sector is moving backward, if you see me as your son becoming a senator today, I attended Salvation Army in Osogbo and Laro Grammar School till the point of attaining Phd in law, what will be the fate of the common residents if we kill our government schools?

 

“Presently, we have a deficit of about 28,000 teachers in Osun; let’s imagine we employ about 10,000 that means 10,000 of our youth will be off the unemployment market, “Basiru posited.

 

He added: “Kabiyesi you said the President is working and what will make us feel more effective in the state is having robust collaboration with the federal government, not that we’ll be following a party that is not at the Federal Level, partially at the state level, and not at the local level, that will bring robust development for us in Osun State”
