FG flags off N178.1b reconstruction of Kaduna-Birnin Gwari road

THE Federal Government on Tuesday, flagged off the reconstruction of the Kaduna-Birnin Gwari connecting South-West in fulfilment of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s campaign promise in 2022.

 

Represented by the Kaduna State Governor Senator Uba Sani, President Bola Tinubu described the project as historic and opportunity for the current generation to correct the mistakes of the past .

 

The President expressed concerns that the Kaduna-Birnin Gwari road has remained unattended to for decades despites it’s gateway advantage into South and potential to unlock economic activities .

 

In his remarks as Governor , Senator Uba Sani commended the President and the Federal Executive Council for the approval of the project and assured that Kaduna state will secure over 90 percent of total votes cast for the president’s second term bid for his qualitative leadership .

 

He said since the assumption of Office as President , confidence of farmers has been restored ,insecurity has been dealt a devastating blow especially banditry along the Abuja -Kaduna road .

 

He used the people to take ownership of the project and dedicate themselves to building infrastructure, harmonious relationship and religious tolerance .

 

In his remarks, the minister of Works ,Engr Dave Umahi said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has remained one politician who keeps his promise and rewards loyalty hence he made his promise to reconstruct the Kaduna -Birnin Gwari believed to be the shortest route to Lagos and South-West Nigeria .

 

The minister emphasized that when completion, the Kaduna -Birnin Gwari road will open economic activities , create jobs and substantially address insecurity in neighbouring states .

 

Umahi who commended the Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani for putting legitimate pressure on the Presidency in ensuring that the road and dream of the people is achieved .

 

The minister stressed that bulk of borrowings of the current administration is being channeled into road infrastructure, adding that such projects have become catalysts for economic prosperity globally .

 

He challenged critics of the current administration to indulge in constructive criticism arguing that the current administration inherited very deplorable state of infrastructure across Nigeria .

 

“We inherited a terrible state of infrastructure so when people complain about borrowing I tell them that we are borrowing to do roads that will not just last but also reboot economic activities and address insecurity “.
