Key Verse:2 Corinthians 6:2, “For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” (KJV)

Often times people will procrastinate to do a thing or take a decision until “tomorrow.””Tomorrow” is often described as the most dangerous word in the spiritual vocabulary. Procrastinating on accepting Christ is a common human tendency, driven by the false assumption that time is guaranteed or that a “more convenient season” will come later.

The Bible speaks directly to this mindset in 2 Corinthians 6:2, emphasising that salvation is an urgent, present-moment decision rather than a future option. Scripture frequently warns against assuming we have a tomorrow. Proverbs 27:1 states, “Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring forth.” Similarly, James 4:14 reminds us that human life is like a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. We live in a world consumed by scheduling, deadlines, and notifications. We plan for tomorrow, invest for retirement, and schedule our lives months in advance. Yet, when it comes to the matters of the soul, humanity suffers from a spiritual disease called procrastination. That is the biblical danger of tomorrow. We treat eternity as an appointment that can be indefinitely rescheduled.

God does not speak in vague seasons or distant tomorrows. When the Holy Spirit speaks regarding your eternity, restoration, and deliverance, He uses a single, urgent word: “Now.” In his second letter to the Corinthians, the Apostle Paul issues a powerful, pressing appeal by quoting the prophet Isaiah to remind us that we are living in a unique window of history—the era of divine favour. “Now” is the accepted time of salvation. “Now” means the present window of divine favour. The word “accepted” in the original Greek text (dektos) carries the meaning of a highly favourable, delighted, and welcome time. It denotes a specific season where God’s grace is actively extended, and the door of mercy is wide open. Right now, we live in the dispensation/age of grace. God is not looking upon humanity in final judgment today.

He is looking in grace upon those separated from Him by sin. God’s sovereign invitation says, “Seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near” (Isaiah 55:6).

The best time to seek God is “Now,” because the greatest lie the enemy tells humanity is not that the Bible isn’t true, or that God doesn’t exist. Rather, the enemy tells humanity that, “You have plenty of time. Do it tomorrow.”The Scripture warns us that every heartbeat is a gift, not a guarantee and we do not hold the lease on tomorrow. Delaying obedience, repentance, or surrender is a dangerous gamble with your soul. Hearing God’s voice and deliberately delaying a response is not a neutral act, but a decision. Each time we say, “not now” to the Holy Spirit, our hearts become slightly more calloused. The author of Hebrews warns: “Today if you will hear His voice, harden not your hearts.”

(Hebrews 4:7).The matters of Heaven carry an absolute urgency. The door of mercy is open today, but it will not remain open forever. A day is coming when the trumpet will sound, and the age of grace will give way to the day of evaluation and judgment. If God is tugging at your heart right now—whether to surrender your life to Christ for the first time, to repent of a hidden sin, or to step into the calling He has placed on your life to act and do not wait for a more “convenient” season. “Now” is the time of salvation.
