Following the recent opening of nominations for the third Nigeria Digital PR Awards, the Nigeria Digital PR Summit (NDPRS) has unveiled an institutional recognition designed to honour 50 outstanding Digital Communications Ambassadors (DICA).

Inductees into the DICA Class of 2026 will be honoured during the Awards Gala, themed, ‘Art of Influence’, holding on Friday, October 16, 2026, in Lagos.

In an interview with The Guardian, convener of the Nigeria Digital PR Summit, Segun McMedal, said the honourees earn the right to use the official designation ‘Digital Communications Ambassador, Class of 2026 (DICA 2026)’ across their executive profiles and professional materials.

While the core Nigeria Digital PR Awards focus on celebrating specific campaigns, projects, and organisational achievements, he added the DICA 2026 initiative honours the individuals driving the evolving practice of digital communications across agency, corporate, entrepreneurial, and creator ecosystems.

Saying DICA 2026 is about the people behind the influence, McMedal added, ‘we are looking beyond surface-level follower numbers to recognise practitioners whose ideas, work, and conduct are actively shaping the future of digital communications in Nigeria. The Class of 2026 represents our ambition to make this a meaningful, long-term professional distinction.’

The Class of 2026 comprises 50 professionals chosen through a curated, criteria-based process. There is no entry fee, public voting, or open application required for consideration.

Inductees will be evaluated across five core benchmarks, including engagement quality, network depth.

And digital presence; contributions to public discourse and strategic communication insights, and measurable impact. Other criteria include a proven track record of performance over time, and adherence to ethical communications standards.
