Etihad Guest to launch mileage partnership with Maldivian

Etihad Airways

Etihad Guest, the loyalty programme of Etihad Airways, the national carrier of the United Arab Emirates, is set to launch a new partnership with Maldivian, the national airline of the Maldives.
The agreement, signed at the Arabian Travel Market, will enable Etihad Guest members to redeem their miles on flights across Maldivian’s network, providing access to the Maldives’ outer islands and regional destinations beyond Malé.

The partnership will allow travellers heading to the Maldives to use Etihad Guest Miles for onward domestic connections, whether travelling from Abu Dhabi or connecting after arriving in the country.Mark Potter, Managing Director of Etihad Guest at Etihad Airways, said the partnership would give members more options for redeeming their miles.

“Our new partnership with Maldivian will give members another way to put their Etihad Guest Miles to work, with access to destinations across the Maldives that would otherwise mean a separate booking,” Potter said.

He added that the agreement would offer greater convenience and choice to Etihad Guest members. Ibrahim Iyas, Managing Director of Maldivian, said the partnership would combine Etihad’s international network with Maldivian’s domestic operations.

“This partnership will bring Etihad’s reach into the Maldives together with our own domestic network, the largest in the country,” Iyas said.

He said Etihad Guest members arriving in Malé would be able to use their accumulated miles to travel to islands and atolls across the Maldives. The partnership builds on an existing interline agreement between the two airlines signed in 2024, which allows passengers travelling on a single ticket to connect to 17 airports across the Maldives beyond Malé.
