Compound Group marks second anniversary, expands operations across business units

Henry Uzochukwu, CEO Compound Group.

Compound Group has marked its second anniversary with an expansion of operations across its oil and gas, logistics, real estate and bakery businesses.

The company said the milestone follows two years of developing its business portfolio and increasing capacity across its subsidiaries, including Compound Logistics, Compound Homes and Compound Pastries.

Speaking during activities marking the anniversary, Group Chief Executive Officer, Barr. Henry Uzochukwu, attributed the company’s progress to its employees as well as the support of customers and business partners.

“I want to sincerely appreciate our team for the work they continue to put in every day. The growth we have recorded would not have been possible without their dedication, professionalism and commitment to the vision of Compound Group,” Uzochukwu said.

He also acknowledged customers of the group’s oil and gas business, which operates in an environment affected by fluctuating diesel prices and broader economic pressures.

According to Uzochukwu, the company has sought to retain customers by focusing on product quality, accurate metering and competitive pricing.

“Our esteemed clients have stayed with us and continued to trust us to deliver. We are grateful for that confidence. At Compound, our commitment remains to provide quality diesel, an untampered meter and competitive pricing,” he said.

As part of its expansion, Compound Logistics has added trucks to its fleet to increase its capacity for transporting diesel within Abuja and to other parts of the country.

The company said the additional vehicles were introduced in response to demand from customers and to improve the logistics supporting the group’s oil and gas operations.

Beyond fuel transportation, the subsidiary is also expanding its passenger-transport business.

Compound Logistics has added vehicles for customers seeking private transportation services and recently introduced a self-drive option.

The service allows eligible customers to hire selected vehicles without using the company’s drivers, providing an alternative to its chauffeur-driven offering.

Uzochukwu said the self-drive service was introduced to give customers greater flexibility while expanding the range of services available through the logistics subsidiary.

The group’s real estate subsidiary, Compound Homes, is also expanding its activities in property acquisition, marketing and sales.

According to the company, its property transactions place particular emphasis on due diligence and verification of ownership documents before properties are presented to prospective buyers.

Uzochukwu said the approach was intended to reduce exposure to disputes and other complications associated with property transactions.

“We understand that buying a property is one of the biggest investments many people will make in their lifetime,” he said.

“That is why we go the extra mile to ensure that the properties we recommend to our clients have undergone the necessary due diligence and are not exposed to avoidable disputes or title-related complications.”

The company is also considering an eventual move from property marketing and sales into real estate development.

Uzochukwu, however, said no timeline had been established for the expansion.

“Definitely. We intend for Compound Homes to go into real estate development. However, we will do that at the appropriate time. When we are ready, we will communicate it officially,” he said.

The move would broaden the subsidiary’s operations beyond facilitating property transactions into developing projects of its own.

Food production has emerged as another area of expansion for the group following the launch of Compound Pastries on November 20, 2025.

The subsidiary entered the bread market with its Compound Family Loaf and Compound Mini Loaf.

Since the launch, the company said it has expanded distribution of Compound Bread across Abuja and surrounding areas, working with distributors and retailers to increase availability.

Uzochukwu described the bakery business as one of the group’s newest investments and said its initial performance had encouraged further expansion.

“Compound Pastries is our new baby, and we are incredibly grateful for the reception it has received,” he said.

“From inception, Compound Bread has performed tremendously well, and we are encouraged by how quickly it is becoming a household name in Abuja and its environs.”

The claim about its growing market recognition reflects the company’s assessment of the product’s performance.

Uzochukwu said the next stage would involve improving products and expanding the distribution network as the subsidiary seeks a larger share of the market.

Reflecting on the company’s first two years, Uzochukwu said Compound Group intends to consolidate its existing businesses while pursuing additional growth opportunities.

“Two years is only the beginning. We are grateful for how far we have come, but we are even more excited about where we are going,” he said.

He said the company expects to record “very visible results, greater accomplishments and an even stronger impact” across its operations over the coming year.

The expansion of Compound Group’s businesses reflects a diversification strategy spanning energy distribution, logistics and transportation, property services and food production.

As it enters its third year, the company said its immediate priorities include strengthening existing operations, expanding service capacity and exploring opportunities within the sectors where its subsidiaries currently operate.
