Nigerian singer, Folarin Odunlami, popularly known as Fola headlined the Island Block Party, an R&B-themed concert that brought music lovers together at Glitz Event Centre, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, on Friday, September 18.

The concert, themed Rhythm and Beautiful, featured live performances from Fola and fellow artiste Kunmi, with hype man Ayosantoz contributing to the evening’s entertainment.

Fola, who took centre stage as the main act, thrilled the audience with performances of some of his popular songs, including Lost, You, Eko and B4B4, alongside other hits from his growing catalogue.

The singer’s performance offered fans an opportunity to enjoy his music in a live setting, as attendees sang along to familiar melodies and immersed themselves in the R&B-inspired atmosphere of the event.

Kunmi also took the stage, performing Arike and other songs from his repertoire. His performance added to the evening’s musical offerings as the audience enjoyed a blend of contemporary Nigerian sounds.

Hype man Ayosantoz was also present at the event, helping to sustain the energy and engagement among attendees throughout the concert.

Organised by Mainland Block Party, the Island edition continued the event brand’s efforts to create live music experiences that connect Nigerian artistes with their audiences in different parts of Lagos.

Although the concert was held on the Island, it formed part of Mainland Block Party’s broader entertainment initiative, which has featured performances from some of Nigeria’s leading music acts.

The platform has previously hosted concerts featuring artistes such as Mayorkun, Reminisce and Terry Apala, giving fans the opportunity to see their favourite performers up close and enjoy live music in accessible social settings.

Through its events, Mainland Block Party continues to create spaces where established and emerging artistes can connect with music lovers, bringing popular Nigerian music closer to audiences across the city.
