2027: Makinde/Daura campaign begins zonal town halls, grassroots mobilisation

The Makinde/Daura Presidential Campaign Organisation has announced the commencement of zonal town hall meetings as part of its consultations ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The meetings, scheduled across the six geopolitical zones, are expected to bring together citizens and stakeholders to discuss issues of national importance.

In a statement yesterday, Tony Ehilebo, Special Adviser on Media and Digital Communication to the presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Seyi Makinde, said the North-West meeting would hold in Katsina, Katsina State, on Tuesday, September 22.

The campaign will hold its South-South meeting in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, on Friday, September 25, while the North-Central meeting is scheduled for Lafia, Nasarawa State, on Monday, September 28.

The South-East meeting will take place in Enugu, Enugu State, on Wednesday, September 30.

The organisation said dates for engagements in the remaining zones would be announced later.

According to the statement, the meetings will focus on issues affecting national stability and the welfare of citizens.

The campaign’s stated theme is “Reset Nigeria”, with the organisation outlining issues including accountability in governance, transparency in the management of public resources and citizen participation.

The organisation also said the meetings were part of its broader consultations and mobilisation activities ahead of the election.

It urged citizens and stakeholders to participate in the town hall meetings and contribute to discussions on issues affecting the country.
