The Nexstars Community, powered by PRO ALLY, has graduated 65 young Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) talents from its eight-week Power Skills Training Programme, designed to strengthen workplace readiness, leadership and career development.

The graduates emerged from Cohort 3.0, which began on August 3 with 138 STEM students and early-career professionals.

The programme focused on equipping participants with skills beyond technical expertise, including communication, teamwork, problem-solving, emotional intelligence, project management and career planning.

Participants received training from professionals and industry leaders, including Managing Director, PRO ALLY, Tunbosun Afolayan, Adefolashade Fadeyi, Osato Evbuomwan, Otasowie Ena-Umweni, Ibrahim Adepoju, Joy Ojakovo, Jumoke Olaniyan, Omowunmi Akinwande and Ifeyinwa (Iphie) Arachie.

The final session, Career Readiness Essentials, held on September 4, covered Curriculum Vitae (CV), cover-letter writing, interview preparation, and navigating internship and entry-level opportunities.

The training also featured Alumni Community Meetups, which connected participants with members of the wider Nexstars community for discussions on career growth, workplace transitions, professional relationships and decision-making.

The organisers said more than 80 per cent of graduates recognised the programme’s contribution to developing leadership, communication, creativity, innovation, entrepreneurship and problem-solving skills, as well as fostering professional connections.

One of the participants, Deborah Ajike, described the experience as transformative, citing leadership development and networking opportunities.

Another participant, Oluwatosin Oyebode, highlighted the value of strengthening skills beyond technical knowledge and learning from experienced professionals.

The 65 graduates are expected to join the wider Nexstars community, with access to mentorship, peer learning, industry engagement and professional development opportunities.

They are scheduled to be inducted into the Nexstars Alumni Community at the 2026 Annual Nexstars Community Bootcamp, holding from November 14 to 15.

Cohort 3.0 is part of the Nexstars S.T.E.M. Leadership Network, a talent development and career acceleration community for STEM students and young professionals.

The network aims to bridge the gap between technical education and workplace readiness through power-skills training, mentorship, peer collaboration, industry engagement and real-world exposure.
