Conzo moves into its next chapter with USD accounts and a broader financial ecosystem

The world’s financial landscape is changing. More people are working with international companies, freelancing for clients abroad, running digital businesses, creating content, and earning income in currencies beyond their local one. Yet for many of these workers, getting paid in USD can still be unnecessarily complicated.

Conzo is responding to that challenge with the launch of Conzo USD Accounts, a new product designed to give users access to a US bank account in their own name for receiving international USD payments.

The new feature represents more than just another addition to Conzo’s product suite. It signals the company’s broader evolution from a platform primarily focused on crypto and gift card transactions into a financial platform built around how people increasingly earn, receive, and move money in a global economy.

Building beyond crypto and gift cards

Conzo initially built its platform around solving specific financial problems for its users, including crypto off-ramping, bill payments, and buying and selling global gift cards. As the customer base grew, however, the company began seeing a broader pattern.

Its users were not simply looking for ways to convert digital assets. Many were freelancers, remote workers, digital entrepreneurs, businesses, and individuals earning from international opportunities. They needed reliable ways to receive and manage money from the global economy.

That observation influenced the development of Conzo USD Accounts.

“Conzo has always been about solving real problems for our users,” says Sokale Moses Olumide, Founder of Conzo Africa Limited. “As our community grew, we realised that helping users off-ramp crypto or buy and sell gift cards was only part of the financial journey. Our users were increasingly earning globally, and we wanted to build infrastructure that supports that reality.”

Designed for the New Generation of Global Earners

The product is not only relevant to freelancers, remote professionals, businesses, digital entrepreneurs, and creators, but to anyone receiving international payments. For many of these users, traditional options have involved navigating multiple platforms, complicated documentation, limitations around access, unfavourable exchange rates, fees, or slow settlement.

Conzo’s approach is to bring the experience closer to the user. Rather than treating international payments as a separate financial journey, the company is integrating USD payments into the broader Conzo ecosystem, alongside its existing crypto and gift card products.

The company says users can expect fast settlement and its best USD conversion rates, while keeping the overall experience simple and accessible.

More than a USD account

For Conzo, the launch is part of a larger vision. The company is also developing ways to make its growing ecosystem more valuable to users over time. Through Conzo Grade Levels, users progress through different levels based on their activity and trading volume. The programme is designed to recognise active users, with incentives and special treatment from the brand forming part of the experience.

The underlying idea is simple: Conzo does not want users to interact with individual products in isolation. It wants to build an ecosystem where customers can access multiple financial services and unlock more value as they grow with the platform.

That philosophy is reflected in the company’s expansion across crypto, gift cards, local currency transactions, global payments, and now USD accounts.

Building for what comes next

The development of Conzo USD Accounts began several months ago and involved securing the necessary approvals, developing the supporting infrastructure, and ensuring that the economics of the product remained practical for users.

The feature is currently undergoing beta testing, with selected users already receiving USD payments through their accounts. Early testing has helped the team refine the experience ahead of the wider launch.

For Conzo, the timing is intentional.

“The global economy is changing, and more people are earning from opportunities beyond their borders,” says Sokale Moses Olumide. “Freelancers, remote professionals, businesses, creators, and digital workers are becoming a significant part of the emerging global USD economy.”

He adds that the company sees the opportunity as bigger than simply launching another payment product.

“We are building the infrastructure for the next generation of people earning globally. Our ambition is to make Conzo a trusted financial platform for that economy and to continue building products that allow users to participate in the global economy without unnecessary friction.”

As the internet continues to reshape how people earn, Conzo is available and can be downloaded on iOS and Android. Positioning itself around that shift, building products not only for where its users are today, but for where their financial lives are heading next.
