Chairman of the Progressives Governors’ Forum (PGF) and Imo State Governor, Sen. Hope Uzodimma has intensified his mobilisation campaign for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election, unveiling an expanded media strategy targeting communities and the country’s 176,846 polling units.
Uzodimma, who is the Director-General of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA), is focusing on taking the message of the Tinubu administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda to the grassroots through an expanded communication and mobilisation network.
The latest phase of the strategy includes a wider media and public enlightenment campaign, with a weekly television programme expected to commence in the coming days.
RHA Director of Logistics, Shehu Bala Usman, who disclosed this on Tuesday, said the initiative would deploy digital and new media platforms to enlighten Nigerians on Federal Government policies, counter misinformation and improve communication between the administration and citizens.
Usman said the strategy was aimed at connecting the government’s reform narrative with voters at the grassroots, while creating opportunities for citizen engagement and feedback.
The development comes amid renewed political exchanges involving Uzodimma and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.
A group of lawyers had recently called on Wike to stop what they described as personal attacks on the Imo governor, urging him to avoid conflict of interest and ensure proper coordination of efforts towards Tinubu’s re-election.
Uzodimma, however, has continued to concentrate on building a nationwide communication and mobilisation structure for the President rather than engaging in an escalating public exchange with the FCT Minister.
The RHA had earlier unveiled a digital platform designed to aggregate policy experts, provide updates on government reforms and disseminate information on Federal Government programmes.
The platform also integrates social media channels to widen its reach and provides for citizen engagement and feedback, with the organisation’s structures extending from the national level to the states, local governments, wards and polling units.
At a national mobilisation retreat in Abuja in June, Uzodimma warned that inadequate communication could create a distorted public perception of government policies and achievements.
He urged supporters of the administration to take its message directly to Nigerians at the grassroots, stressing the need for sustained communication of the government’s policies and reforms.
As part of the mobilisation architecture, the governor disclosed plans covering the country’s 176,846 polling units, with 25 canvassers proposed for each polling unit.
According to him, the structure would produce approximately 4,421,150 grassroots mobilisers who would be expected to communicate the administration’s programmes and mobilise support at the local level.
Uzodimma has also directed RHA national directors and coordinators across the 36 states and the FCT to intensify grassroots mobilisation and public awareness of the Tinubu administration’s programmes.
The organisation said the expanded media strategy would therefore serve not only as an information campaign but also as part of a broader grassroots communication network reaching communities, markets, campuses, wards and polling units ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Uzodimma had earlier said the 2027 election would provide an opportunity for Nigerians to assess the Tinubu administration’s reform agenda, arguing that supporters needed to do more to explain the policies and achievements of the government.
