Ogun CP presenting cheques to deceased police officers' relatives 

The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Police Command, CP Bode Ojajuni yesterday presented cheques of ₦37,913,081.77 to the families and next-of-kin of deceased police officers who served under the Command.

Thirty-Seven Million, Nine Hundred and Thirteen Thousand, Eighty-One Naira, Seventy-Seven Kobo () to the families and next-of-kin of deceased Police officers who served under the Command.

The presentation was held at the Command Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, was made under the Nigeria Police Force Group Life Assurance Scheme, designed to provide financial support to families of officers who lost their lives in the course of service to the nation.

Ojajuni, who was represented presenting by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department, DCP Oliver Ezirim, said that the presentation of the cheque was done on behalf of the Inspector General of Police IGP Olatunji Disu.

He reaffirmed the IGP’s commitment to Police welfare, noting that while no financial assistance can replace the lives lost, the intervention reflects the Force’s appreciation of their sacrifices and its responsibility towards the families left behind.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mrs John Shito expressed appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police and the Ogun State Command for the welfare support, assuring that the funds would be judiciously utilised for the welfare and sustenance of their families.

The event commenced with a one-minute silence in honour of the departed officers as the command reiterates that their families remain part of the Police family.
