FUTA gets NUC’s approval for school of health
THE Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA), has obtained the approval of the National Universities Commission (NUC) to establish School of Health and Health Technology.
FUTA’S Vice Chancellor, Professor Adebiyi Daramola, who announced the approval, further disclosed that the school would take off with initial courses like Physiology, Anatomy, Dental Technology and Optometry.
Professor Daramola said the new school would eventually lead to the establishment of a medical school and a teaching hospital.

You can’t have optometry and other ancillary courses without a teaching hospital, which is at the core. Some of the courses we are starting with are basic medical sciences…”
