
The club, led by the District Governor, Dr. Jide Akeredolu, paid a visit to the Baale of Mende, commissioned some projects and held a conflict resolution event at one of its adopted community, Cane village.
President of the club, Adewale Sanni, said maternal and child health care is one of the major areas of focus of Rotary International and the kits will assist indigent pregnant women who visit the PHC to have safe delivery without complications.
He added that the main objective of Rotary is to help mankind and support people who are less privileged, which is why the club has carried out several projects in empowering people at cane village, resolving the conflicts among them as well as support indigent students with their school fees and also with exercise books, textbooks, conduct quiz and give them awards.
The District Governor, who commended the projects, said the club has fulfilled part of the Rotary mandate, which is service to humanity in the area of health, empowerment, and peacekeeping.
