Abiola Ajimobi, Governor of Oyo State

A legal luminary and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Niyi Akintola has said Oyo State Governor Abiola Ajimobi has done well since assuming office six years ago. Citing infrastructure development and sustained peace being enjoyed since Ajimobi assumed office, Akintola said the governor deserves a part on the back for his achievements.

He noted that prior to his assumption of office, Oyo was wracked by street violence and other vices and expressing joy that peace has now been restored to the pacesetters state.

Akintola, in a statement issued by his media assistant, Ayodele Olaitan further lauded Ajimobi’s people-oriented programmes, especially the recent health insurance scheme which, he noted, would make healthcare delivery much cheaper and readily available for the common man.

He commended the governor for the various well-executed road and other infrastructure projects across the state, especially those marked out for inauguration to mark Ajimobi’s six years of stewardship as governor.

The projects to be inaugurated include Gate-Airport-Alakia Road; Oke-Adu-Iwo Road; Idi-Ape-Akobo-Oju-Irin Road and Eleyele-Ologuneru-Eruwa Road.He pointed out that completion of the road projects would ease the movement of people and goods across the state.

Akintola also expressed pleasure with the activation of the pacesetter free trade zone, which he believes would move the state forward in its industrialisation and job creation efforts.
