Axxela names new board, CEO

Axxela Limited, a leading gas and power portfolio company in sub-Saharan Africa

Axxela Limited has appointed a new board of directors and named Moshood Olajide as its Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

This is just as the energy infrastructure company strengthens its governance structure following its post-divestment transition.

The appointments are intended to reinforce the company’s strategic oversight as it expands its natural gas infrastructure and energy solutions across industries and markets.

Nzan Ogbe chairs the new board, which includes Eric Idiahi, Dolu Olugbenjo, Olufemi Okin, Moshood Olajide, Kaat Van Hecke, and Jeremy Bending as non-executive directors.

‎According to the company, the appointments are expected to strengthen its governance framework and support its next phase of growth, drawing on the members’ experience in business leadership, financial management, infrastructure development, banking, consulting, asset management, private equity, and the oil and gas sector.
‎ ‎
Olajide succeeds Timothy Ononiwu as Group Chief Executive Officer. The company described him as an experienced oil and gas executive with expertise in operational excellence, business growth and strategic transformation. He is also a lawyer qualified to practise in Nigeria and New York.
‎ ‎
Ogbe, who chairs the board, is the founder and first Chief Executive Officer of Levene Energies and chairman of LPV Energies.

Speaking on the appointments, Ogbe said the board would work with the management team to provide governance, strategic oversight and guidance as the company pursues its growth plans.

‎The leadership changes come as Axxela seeks to expand its investments in gas infrastructure and strengthen its role in delivering natural gas to industrial and commercial customers.
