Azoji becomes Neimeth MD/CEO

The Board of Neimeth International Pharmaceuticals Plc has appointed Matthew Azoji as the new managing director/Chief Executive Officer of the company.
TransNational Corporation appreciated by 10.10 per cent to close at N6.87 per share. Linkage Assurance garnered 7.02 per cent to close at N0.61 per share. Julius Berger also added 4.98 per cent to close at N41.52 per share.

The Board of Neimeth International Pharmaceuticals Plc has appointed Matthew Azoji as the new managing director/Chief Executive Officer of the company.

The appointment was ratified by the shareholders during the 60th yearly meeting of the company in Lagos. Azoji graduated from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, where he obtained his B. Pharm (First Class Honours). He obtained an MBA (Marketing) from the Enugu State University of Science and Technology, Enugu, and an Advanced Management Programme (AMP) from the Lagos Business School; Pan Atlantic University, Lagos.

In a statement signed by Director of Administration, Neimeth International Pharmaceuticals Plc, Isaac Igbanoi, Azoji is expected to drive the activities of the company towards a greater future with his wealth of experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry.
He obtained certificates in Pharmaceutical Policy and Pharmacoeconomics from Utrecht University in the Netherlands (a World Health Organisation (WHO) collaborating centre), and went on to get his M.Sc. in Public health from the University of London, International Programmes.

He has an M.Phil (Pharmacy Administration) from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. Azoji is currently a Fellow of Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (FPSN) and fellow, West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacists (FPCPharm). Matthew Obi Azoji had before now worked with May & Baker at various levels; was the pioneer MD/CEO of CHAN Medi-Pharm Ltd/Gte, and led the executive and management teams of Biovaccines Nigeria Ltd., a public private partnership company between the Federal Government of Nigeria and May & Baker Nigeria Ltd., from where he joined Neimeth.

He is reputed to be a performance driven professional with over 20 years experience at senior level as a leader in the pharmaceutical and public health sectors of Nigeria.
