The Institute of Directors Nigeria (IoD) has announced the appointment of Segun Alabi as its new Head of Corporate Affairs and Programmes.In a statement by institute’s Director General/Chief Executive Officer, Dele Alimi, said Alabi, a talented corporate affairs professional, would be an added value and asset to the institute, even as the institute continue to support, promote and provide best practice guidelines to company directors, as well as contributing to the growth of the economy.

Alabi, most recently, served as Corporate Affairs Manager at AB-INBEV (International Breweries Plc), overseeing all regulatory affairs and sustainability functions of the organisation.

He has focused on reputation management, government relations, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) management, stakeholder management, public policy advocacy and social media management at various levels.

He is also a consummate corporate communications professional, who possesses the qualities of a communication connoisseur, with a canny ability to manage and disseminate information to a competitive advantage.

He said: “I am excited to join the Institute of Directors Nigeria and indeed it is a dream come true. The task ahead is enormous but achievable.” Alabi holds a PHD degree in English from the University of Lagos, specialising in Language Use and Communication.
