Lagos State University governing council has approved the promotion of Dr. Yunus Adeleke Dauda to the post of Professor of Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management.

The Lagos State University governing council has approved the promotion of Dr. Yunus Adeleke Dauda to the post of Professor of Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management.

Dr Dauda was considered at its 121st meeting held recently by the council.

Before now, Dr. Dauda was an Associate Professor in the Department of Industrial Relations and Human resource management.

Professor Dauda had his PhD from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He was appointed by Nigerian External Telecommunications Ltd (NET) and Nigerian Telecommunications Ltd (NITEL) as Personnel Officers and Manager and as Training Manager at NITEL Management Training Centre, Kano.

He is an active trade unionists and one time Secretary and Chairman of the Ogun State Branch of the Senior Staff Association of Government Owned Companies and Public Corporation (Post and Telecoms Branch) – An affiliate of the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC).

He is also the Chief Executive / Chief Consultant of the Decent Work Labour and Skills Development Services (DWLSDS) – a people empowerment and development oriented organisation, which he established to improve the entrepreneurial skills, income and wellbeing of Nigerian workers, retirees, and unemployed youth.

Professor Dauda is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPMN).

He was a former Chairman of the Ojo – Badagry Personnel Practitioners Consultative Association (PPCA), a branch of CIPMN and he was declared the best chairman in 2014 by the Lagos State Branch of the CIPMN.

He is a member of the International Labour and Employment Relations Association, Geneva and Member of the International Network Regional and Local Development of Work and Labour, Osnabruck, Germany.

He has presented many papers in both local and international conferences and published in reputable local and international journals. He has also published two books titled: Managing Technology Innovation: The Human Resource Management Perspective, published by Peter Lang, Frankfurt, Germany and Managing Global Poverty Challenge: The Human Development Perspective, published by Taqwa Equity Press, Ibadan, Nigeria in 2009 and 2017 respectively.

He is the national Vice Coordinator of Islamic Welfare Foundation (IWF). He is married with children.
