Dr Mujidat Babah

EHA Clinics has appointed public health physician Dr Mujidat Babah as its new Chief Medical Officer (CMO), reinforcing the organisation’s commitment to strengthening clinical governance, patient safety and the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred healthcare across its network.

Dr Babah assumes the role after serving as Senior Manager, Clinical Services at EHA Clinics, where she led efforts to enhance clinical governance, quality assurance systems, regulatory compliance, and patient safety initiatives. Her appointment reflects the organisation’s continued investment in developing internal leadership while strengthening the systems that support improved health outcomes.

Announcing the appointment, the Chief Executive Officer of EHA Clinics, Dr Ifunanya Ilodibe, described Dr Babah as a healthcare leader whose commitment to quality and patient safety has consistently strengthened the organisation’s clinical standards.

“Quality in healthcare isn’t something you declare. It’s something you build—day after day, decision after decision. Over the years, I have watched Dr Babah lead with consistency, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to patient safety and clinical excellence. She has helped strengthen the systems that support safe, reliable care across EHA Clinics, and I have every confidence she will continue to build on that foundation as our Chief Medical Officer,” she said.

A public health physician with more than a decade of experience spanning Nigeria’s public and private healthcare sectors, Dr Babah holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS), a Master’s degree in Health Economics, a Master of Public Health (MPH), and a Master of Business Administration (MBA). She is also a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) and has undertaken advanced training in healthcare leadership, quality management, agile project management and business strategy.

During her time at EHA Clinics, she has led several initiatives aimed at strengthening clinical governance, improving healthcare quality, enhancing patient safety, managing clinical risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. These efforts have contributed to more consistent, evidence-based care and improved patient outcomes across the organisation.

Speaking on her appointment, Dr Babah expressed appreciation for the opportunity to lead the organisation’s clinical operations.

“It is an honour to serve as Chief Medical Officer at EHA Clinics. Having grown within this organisation, I have seen firsthand what is possible when quality, teamwork and patient-centred care come together. I look forward to working with our teams to strengthen clinical governance, advance patient safety and continue building healthcare systems that improve lives,” she said.

As Chief Medical Officer, Dr Babah will provide strategic oversight of clinical governance, medical quality, patient safety, and healthcare excellence across EHA Clinics, supporting the organisation’s efforts to deliver safe, evidence-based, and compassionate care as it continues to expand its services.

Her appointment comes at a time when healthcare providers across Nigeria are placing greater emphasis on strengthening clinical governance, improving patient outcomes and investing in leadership capable of driving quality improvement across healthcare systems.

EHA Clinics said the appointment underscores its long-term commitment to building resilient healthcare systems through strong clinical leadership, innovation and continuous investment in people, processes and quality care.
