Experts canvass better attitude by human resource practitioners
Human Resource experts have been advised to ensure companies and individuals maintain positive attitude, willingness and capability to survive despite a challenged economy.
Speaking recently at the launch of Optimal HR Group, Lagos office, the executive chairman of the Lagos office, Sunday Adeyemi, said despite the economic challenges, Nigeria’s population offered the HR firm multi-dimensional potentials.
He explained: “The need for HR service is there for us, we are bringing in international practices to provide solutions to resourcing and talent acquisition in Nigeria. Other growth packages will come as we progress with our aspirations to help organizations to diagnose and offer solutions to their workforce, people development.”
He added that Optimal HR brings together outstanding talents whose expertise spread across all sectors of global economy providing global network empowerment.

Also speaking was the regional director in Athens, Greece, Magda Pantelidu, who said the launch of Nigerian office was arrived at after executive search and selection process.
“We are experts on international mobility and with our team here, we can also provide local support. We offer a number of services from HR systems for businesses to customer experiences and the culture chains, but we really want to see what the needs are here and how people respond to this,” she added.
On his part, the director of Human resource, Airtel Nigeria, Gbemiga Owolabi, who delivered a paper on ‘how to manage HR in challenged economy’, emphasized that leaders needed to be visible, saying, “it is important for the follower to know what the leader is doing.”
The Director of Human Resources, Cadbury Nigeria Plc, Tope Philips, said HR companies must play the role of business advocate and sensitize every employee.
“The key thing is to identify talents in performance, and also identify where to meet these talents,” he noted.
