Leaders of companies and organisations have been urged to lead by showing good examples in order to attain corporate goals and success.

Chief Executive Officer of Kore-values Solutions, Korede Olusanya, said this during the retreat organised by a leading stockbroking firm, Heartbeat Investments Ltd in Lagos.

Stressing the importance of effective Leadership in corporate environment, Olusanya said living a life of integrity is a must for an effective leader because it determines the success and prosperity of the organisation.

He said: “Effective leadership is a product of good examples laid from time to time. People do what they see their leader do. Living a life of Integrity is a must for an effective Leader.

How you conduct yourself as a leader will send out constant messages to your followers. No matter what you say, people will do what you do. Your attitude, disposition, actions and reactions are mirrors to your employees and in no time it will be reflected back to the organization”

He said the workplace is one environment where effective leadership is really important because it is crucial to the attainment of organizational goals and objectives. 

Olusanya urged leaders of industry to develop courage to take calculated risks and be innovative in their ideas.

On his part, the managing director of the Stockbroking firm, Cletus Imasuen (a former council member of the Nigerian Stock Exchange) charged the staff to go and implement decisions reached at the retreat.

He alerted the staff to the danger of seeing the retreat as just an event and getting bogged down by daily routine and operational challenges thereafter.
