The Federal Government has appointed a new Controller-General for the Federal Fire Service (FFS). He is Deputy Controller General (DCG) Olumide Samuel Adeyemi.
Announcing the appointment on behalf of President Bola Tinubu, Secretary of the Board of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), Major General Abdulmalik Jibril (rtd), in a statement, said Adeyemi’s appointment takes effect on August 14. The newly appointed substantive CG is taking over from Abdulganiyu Jaji, whose appointment elapses on August 13 upon reaching the retirement age of 60.
The statement reads in part: “On behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR), the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) is pleased to announce the appointment of DCG Olumide Samuel Adeyemi as the new substantive Controller-General of the Federal Fire Service (FFS), effective 14th August 2025.”
