Non-governmental organization, Democracy and Good Governance Forum (DGGD), has commended Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State and the workers’ unions over the prompt resolution of the strike recently  embarked upon by workers.

In a press statement released in Osogbo on Sunday, and  signed by its Chairman/Convener, Comrade TundOladunjoye , the group praised the Osun labour leaders for their “maturity and understanding of the realities on ground regarding the drop in the federal allocation to the State, occasioned by economy recession.”

According to the statement, “the resolve office the workers to cooperate with Governor Aregbesola, is a practical demonstration of genuine partnership and support for the governor’s unprecedented infrastructural  and overall development of the State. The workers will occupy a golden corner when the history of the success of the current administration will be written by posterity.”

“While praising Governor Aregbesola for his visionary and exemplary leadership, we enjoin the governor to always engage the workers, and never to take them for granted in his developmental strides, even as we earnestly pray for increased fortunes of the nation and the State of Osun, so that outstanding arrears could be paid soonest”.

It would be recalled that the indefinite strike embarked upon by Osun workers a week ago was called of on Saturday, December 30, when the labour leaders and the State Government signed a Memorandum of understanding.
