Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Certification Edge, Ajibola Bamidele, has described Human Resource (HR) management as an effective tool for business growth.

He said this during the induction of about 100 certified HR professionals by Certification Edge, a training and consulting firm, where he charged the newly inducted professionals to be leading leaders in driving exponential growth through leading behaviour.

He described HR professionals as the driving force behind every successful business, stating that there was a need for them to take the lead and begin to think like chief executives.

Speaking on the theme, ‘Driving Business Growth Through Effective Leadership,’ Bamidele, said that it was imperative for HR leaders to employ people, who have a skilled mindset to bridge the gap for business growth.

According to him, team leaders should employ innovation skills that would thrive individual businesses.

He maintained that organisational goals required a certain leadership and management capability in their HR team without which no meaningful goal could be achieved.

He implored the newly inducted professionals to choose leadership styles, long term strategies that will have positive impacts on the companies’ future.

President, Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM), Olusegun Mojeed, in his address, said that the CIPM is a learning organisation that keeps improving the knowledge base of its members.

“We keep developing our people in contemporary issues. The essence is that the human resource of today, that is the people not as a department must all be harnessed for the purpose of business, sustainability, nation-building and for the purpose of the individual’s progress,” he said.

He said that HR professionals are strategic thinkers that bring quality value to the table by improving people, who in turn improve the business.

The CIPM boss commended the inductees for making the right choice in subjecting themselves to tutelage, noting that certifications are very important in one’s career.
