HR recognises Olugbodi for exceptional leadership

The Human Resources (HR) Expo Africa (HREA) Awards 2026 has honoured the founder and chief resilience architect of Oak Resilience Consultancy, Dr Alexander Olugbodi, with a Lifetime Achievement Award based on his decades of unwavering dedication, exceptional leadership and lasting influence on human resources, workforce development, and organisational excellence.

The event, held at the HREA Work Festival, Africa’s premier gathering for HR professionals and business leaders, had the award bestowed on Olugbodi as a distinguished honour reserved for visionary leaders who have made an extraordinary mark on the profession.

Founder of HR Expo Africa, Erefa Coker, said Olugbodi’s selection reflected his profound commitment to advancing HR practices, mentoring future leaders, and championing transformational change in the world of work.

A renowned leader in workplace transformation, Coker said he is dedicated to fostering resilience and excellence within organisations.

She said throughout his career, Olugbodi, who also serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Background Check International, the pioneers of background screening services in Nigeria, has not only shaped the industry but has also inspired countless professionals to push the boundaries of what was possible.

In addition to the Lifetime Achievement Award, Olugbodi was formally inducted into HR’s most influential list, announced at the HREA awards dinner.
