The National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) has restated commitment to excellence in its core mandate of providing qualified entrepreneurial skills for national development.

Registrar and Chief Executive of NABTEB, Prof. Ifeoma Isiugo-Abanihe, made the disclosure at the opening ceremony of the governing board’s meeting and visit to the headquarters of NABTEB, in Benin City, Edo State.

Isiugo-Abanihe, who welcomed the chairman and other members of the Governing Board to NABTEB headquarters, said the inauguration of the board by the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, was apt and a welcome development.

She said the need to disseminate information on NABTEB’s assessment for its two recent skills certificates-Modular Trade Certificate (MTC) and National Skills Qualification (NSQ) was highly crucial, as everyone needed a skill to compete and survive favourably in the 21st century.

She added that NABTEB is strategising to network with states and private sector on skills empowerment training. She appealed to the newly inaugurated 10th governing Board to synergise with management and staff to move NABTEB forward.

On his part, Chairman NABTEB 10th governing Board, Prof. Bem Angwe, pledged the support and commitment of the Board to the remodeling of NABTEB in ensuring that it achieves its mandate.

Angwe noted that the Federal Government was committed to promoting entrepreneurship and building a crop of entrepreneurs to take many of the youths and unemployed graduates away from the streets.
