Nigeria’s Solomon Ojeagbase appointed as UN Representative

The Managing Director of Complete Communications Limited, Dr. Solomon Ojeagbase has been appointed as a United Nations (UN) Representative to the AWWG at the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).

Dr. Ojeagbase announced his appointment on Friday via a post he shared on his official Facebook page, expressing delight and saying that he was very honoured to have been appointed.

“This appointment is both a privilege and a responsibility. In this role, I look forward to contributing meaningfully to global dialogue, policy advocacy, and multi-stakeholder collaboration aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in areas of sustainable development, inclusive growth, and international cooperation,” he wrote.

Ojeagbase who holds an honorary Doctor of Philosophy Degree (PhD) in Public Administration by Geofidel Institute of Leadership and Management and Stratford University London, United Kingdom, also expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him.

He further said he cannot wait to get started on his new role at the UN, even as the Harvard Business School–certified digital transformation expert & a leading figure in Africa’s sports media added that he looks forward to working alongside global leaders, policymakers, civil society organisations, and fellow representatives.

“I am grateful for the trust placed in me and look forward to working alongside global leaders, policymakers, civil society organisations, and fellow representatives to support initiatives that create measurable, long-term impact,” he stated.

“Thank you to everyone who has supported this journey. I remain committed to service, collaboration, and advancing solutions that contribute to a more sustainable and equitable future.”

Ojeagbase is a graduate of Covenant University where he studied for a BSc. in International Relations. He also has an MBA from the prestigious Lagos Business School (LBS).

Deepening his business acumen, he attended a MiniMBA program at the London School of Business and Finance and an Entrepreneurship and Innovation in the Emerging Markets program at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, United States.

In 2016, he was nominated for Professional Service at The Future Awards Africa for his contribution to the development of the digital football community online, through the Complete Sports website and other digital communities which he built from the ground up.

Dr. Ojeagbase has grown through the ranks at Complete Communications Limited, publishers of Nigeria’s No.1 Sports daily, Complete Sports. Now an Executive Director, he heads www.completesports.com, the Online Division.
